Andrew Plato

FOUNDER

Andrew Plato is the founder and prior CTO of Anitian. Andrew’s history with security began in 1995. While a technical writer at Microsoft, Andrew inadvertently hacked some production websites using a SQL injection style attack. This event inspired Andrew to start Anitian. Andrew was the driving force and visionary behind Anitian Cloud, the fastest path to security and compliance in the cloud.

Katherine Burgess

Director, Customer Success

Kat has been with Anitian since 2014. After a 15 year career in Human Resources, she made the jump over to Sales after joining Anitian and was part of Anitian’s pivot from Professional Services to our Platform offering. Today Kat focuses her time on bolstering relationships with our customers and providing direct customer feedback to help strengthen Anitian’s service and product offerings.

Guy has served on many industry association boards and led numerous youth organizations. He celebrates his 33+ year marriage and is immensely proud of he and his wife’s financially independent son and daughter. He continues his pursuit of adventure alpine skiing and surfing.

Valerie Nilson

Head of People

As Head of People, Valerie brings over 20 years of experience in human resources business partnering, total rewards, talent development and diversity and inclusion. She has worked in global technology companies, from start-up to mature stages, including Texas Instruments, EMC, Citrix Systems and Rambus. At Anitian, Valerie and her team are responsible for building people programs that support company growth, while promoting a culture where employees can do their best work. Valerie holds a B.A. in Sociology from University of California, Santa Barbara, and professional certifications including Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR), Prosci Change Management and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.

Robert Cooper

VP of Security
Robert is a 19-year information technology and security engineering and architecture veteran. He works with his team to build threat intelligence, security monitoring, and operational programs with an emphasis on cloud and automation.

Chris brings a proven track record of delivering creative, practical solutions for customers across industries. Chris has spent his career working as an engineer and leader in software development, overseeing DevOps teams focused on cloud transformation.

Andreas Ohrbeck

VP Alliances & Business Development

As VP of Alliances and Business Development, Andreas brings more than 15 years of experience working with technology partners, channel, business & corporate development in cloud and security companies. Most recently Andreas was the VP of Business and Corporate Development at Yubico (VC backed by A16Z & Meritech) and has also served as Sr. Director of Technology Alliances at Apptio (IPO & acquired by Vista) and VP of Business Development at Secunia (acquired by Flexera). At Anitian, Andreas is responsible for expanding the company’s strategic alliances with leading Cloud Platform Vendors, security vendors, resellers, and government focused system integrators.

Rudy Cifolelli

VP of Sales

With over 20 years of experience across a broad range of startups and mature companies, Rudy has a proven track record of establishing rapid revenue growth for companies in the security industry. He holds a B.S. In Computer Information Systems from Ferris State University.

John Vecchi

CMO

As Chief Marketing Officer, John brings more than 24 years of experience in high-tech marketing, strategy, product marketing, product management, sales and consulting. Most recently, John was Chief Marketing Officer at ColorTokens and Anonyome Labs. Previously, he served as senior vice president of product marketing and strategy for Blue Coat Systems, Chief Marketing Officer for Solera Networks (acquired by Blue Coat), Vice President of WW Marketing at Zscaler, Head of Global Product Marketing & Strategy for Check Point Software, as well as Sr. Director of Product Marketing for McAfee’s Network Security Business Unit. John also serves as an Advisor at Signal Peak Ventures. As CMO, John oversees global marketing, branding, communications, press & analysts, and go-to-market strategy & execution.

Rakesh Narasimhan

President & CEO

As Chief Executive Officer, Rakesh brings Anitian more than 25 years of experience as a global executive with a demonstrated track record of value creation through technology innovation, revenue growth, customer experience and operational excellence. He is recognized for his success in helping high-growth technology and Software-as-a-Service companies scale globally and innovate, most recently as President and Chief Operating Officer at SpaceFlight Industries, a global disrupter in the Space Industry delivering value in software and rocket launches to the Small Satellite industry. Previously he served as Group Vice President of the $1.8B Enterprise business at Citrix and prior to that he served as the General Manager for Azure Data, Security and Storage infrastructure businesses at Microsoft Corporation. At Anitian, Rakesh will support the company’s continued leadership and growth in security and compliance solutions for today’s diverse technology environments.

Steve Shillingford

Reformed Data Minor. Privacy & Cybersecurity Expert

Steve Shillingford is an entrepreneur, technologist and cybersecurity expert. He is the founder of Anonyome Labs, maker of MySudo app. A reformed data miner, Steve is a staunch consumer privacy advocate with more than 25 years of experience driving innovation and growth at industry-leading technology companies. Prior to founding Anonyome Labs in 2014, Steve served as President and CEO of Solera Networks, which was instrumental in defending enterprise and government organizations against zero-day attacks and advanced persistent threats. Steve led Solera to a successful exit in 2013 when the company was acquired by Blue Coat Systems, where it formed the basis of Blue Coat’s “Advanced Threat Protection” platform.

Sean Cunningham

Managing Director of ForgePoint Capital

Sean is renowned as a top tier cybersecurity investor for over 25 years and has invested in 18 cybersecurity startups during his career, leading 13 to exit. He is well respected by entrepreneurs, co-investors, board members and go-to-market partners and was cited as one of the top cybersecurity investors by market analyst firm CB Insights. He is listed in their “Board of Directors: Who’s Who in Cybersecurity.” Prior to ForgePoint, Sean was focused on Cybersecurity investments with Intel Capital. Sean holds an MBA from Gonzaga University and is a huge Zag basketball fan.

Richard Stiennon

Chief Research Analyst, IT-Harvest

He has presented on the topic of cybersecurity in 29 countries on six continents. He is a lecturer at Charles Sturt University in Australia. He is the author of Secure Cloud Transformation: The CIO’s Journey and Surviving Cyberwar (Government Institutes, 2010) and Washington Post Best Seller, There Will Be Cyberwar. He writes for Forbes and The Analyst Syndicate. He is a member of the advisory board at the Information Governance Initiative and sits on the Responsible Recycling Technical Advisory Committee, the standard for electronic waste. Stiennon was Chief Strategy Officer for Blancco Technology Group, the Chief Marketing Officer for Fortinet, Inc. and VP Threat Research at Webroot Software. Prior to that he was VP Research at Gartner, Inc. He has a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and his MA in War in the Modern World from King’s College, London.
