All the security monitoring and defenses in the world cannot stop a person armed with stolen credentials or password. It is this fact that makes authentication such an important issue for modern enterprise networks. Ideally, organizations should use two-factor authentication measures. This would include both a password and username combination as well as some physical security device like a keycard or thumbprint reader. At a minimum, all organizations should use a central logon mechanism like RADIUS, Novell eDirectory, LDAP, or Windows Active Directory. These mechanisms are very convenient, but need to be implemented in a secure manner. Beyond authentication, organizations need to address the larger concept of Identity Management. This is a practice of managing not only user logons, but also managing identities. A single identity might have multiple logons to different systems. Anitian has rock-solid solutions that can unify these logons into a single-sign-on. This can dramatically improve security as well as user productivity. Anitian is an expert solutions provider for numerous different authentication systems. We are experts at setting up and managing Windows Active Directory as well as integrating it with RADIUS or Safeword from SecureComputing.
