Anitian President addresses growth at Anitian

"I am more excited about the future of Anitian today than I ever have been."


Beaverton, OR – November 1, 2011 - As many of you have noticed, we have made some changes at Anitian this year. I wanted to take a moment to talk about those changes and what they mean to you as a valued customer.

Anitian is a growing company. Over the past 10 years, we have steadily and strategically expanded our services, solutions and client-base. Anitian’s client portfolio is made up of roughly 2000 companies, including many of the largest companies in the nation.

In late 2010, we recognized that we needed help governing this growth. We engaged a team of business consulting experts to provide us guidance and insight. Based on those recommendations, we began a multi-year process of improvements. As owner of Anitian, I am very excited about these changes. They will ensure Anitian remains a valued resource to our clients.

I’d like to take a moment and highlight a few of our top initiatives:

You’ve got a team at Anitian...

We’ve updated our client and project management practices, which included hiring a dedicated client services team. What this means to our customers is that when you work with Anitian, you get a team of people focused on the success of your project. In addition to the Account Executive who helps scope out your services, you will have a Client Services Manager working with you every step of the way from your very first kick off call and scheduling your services, to the delivery of your reports.

Our new Director of Sales & Marketing, Lisa Slaven, joined Anitian with a mandate to update and improve our account management and client relations. She has quickly built out a new team of professional account executives with a focus on customer service and expanding Anitian nationwide. We now have consulting offices in Minneapolis, MN, Dallas, TX and Boston, MA to accommodate new customers in those regions. In addition to ensuring we have all star sales and marketing teams to assist you, she is also responsible for managing our technology partner program. We’ve consolidated our partners to focus on industry leading solutions we know deliver value for our clients. Specifically, we have added some exciting new partners such as Sourcefire, NitroSecurity (now part of McAfee), Allgress and Quest software.

We want to make it easy for you...

Anitian has revised and updated our renewal process to make it as easy and efficient as possible to renew your support and maintenance on products. We have a team of people working to notify you of a renewal. Have several renewals due at once and want to cut one purchase order? No problem! We’ll take care of it for you so that when it’s time to renew next year you have one consolidated technology renewal.

Anitian has also significantly upgraded our financial systems and controls. This has allowed Anitian to offer more robust and diverse credit options to our clients and flexible billing terms. In addition to making it easier to come on board with Anitian, we’ve lowered our prices on penetration testing and web application testing thanks to greater efficiency and automation.

New & Improved Services...

In early 2011, we completely revamped our penetration testing platform with new tools, greater automation and robust hardware. This allows us to conduct more tests in less time and with significantly greater accuracy. We also worked to update our reports to provide better guidance and insight to our clients. As security experts in this industry it is our duty to anticipate industry trends and needs, so we built out a new lab for digital forensics and image acquisition which has been immensely useful for incident response cases.

And we’re just getting warmed up...

Anitian is still in a big hiring phase, expect to see new consultants, sales and support staff joining the team soon!

As 2011 starts to close out, we have even more improvements on the horizon. And some of them are very exciting. Coming soon to Anitian:

  • Anitian Vision – Compliance & Risk Management Portal: In conjunction with Allgress, Anitian is rolling out a new risk and compliance management portal. This portal will provide Anitian clients with a robust platform for managing compliance (specifically with PCI) and vulnerabilities.
  • Mobile Security Assessment: Beginning this month, Anitian will be offering a comprehensive organizational assessment for mobile security solutions and architecture.
  • Enhanced investigation services: Anitian has expanded our incident response services to include comprehensive investigation capabilities. Anitian has an on-staff private investigator and can provide sophisticated and sensitive investigative and intelligence services.
  • Managed SIEM: In 2012, Anitian plans to roll out a new managed SIEM service, specifically designed for small to medium sized clients.

While we’ve reviewed quite a lot of change here at Anitian, a few things have remained the same.

  • Same dedication to rational, pragmatic security solutions.
  • Same focus on business-friendly ways to solve complex security, privacy and compliance issues.
  • Same respect for the confidentiality of our clients.
  • Same ownership.

Anitian has been my life for 16 years and I plan to continue running Anitian according to my personal mission to help as many business as I can with practical, pragmatic security solutions. I am more excited about the future of Anitian today than I ever have been.

Information security is the ultimate game. It demands guile, intelligence, experience, technology and intuition. It is the struggle of reason against chaos. It is a cat and mouse game of brinksmanship and intrigue. I love the ambiguity and challenge of information security. And I love helping customers navigate this game.

Anitian made these changes for you, our clients. And we will continue to work hard to earn your business and be your trusted security partner.

We understand that you have a lot of choices for information security. Just remember, when it is time to play the security game, who do you want on your team? Some slick sales guy in a suit who has a great golf swing, or a seasoned expert who knows how to win.
