Security Analyst – Portland, Oregon

This is a technical information security position. The ideal candidate must be comfortable with the management of security technologies. This position requires strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and manage network and security technologies.
• Work with customers to identify, remediate, and test solutions.
• Research and analyze security events and logs for possible intrusion or attack.
• Troubleshoot issues.
• Develop practices, processes, and procedures to respond to potential security incidents.
• Determine appropriate incident response measures for security events.
• Conduct security vulnerability scans and evaluate the results.

Requirements

• 5-7 years experience in network and security administration.
• Advanced knowledge and expertise with intrusion prevention systems (IPS).
• Advanced knowledge of network protocols, technologies, and design.
• Strong understanding of data center operations.
• Ability to present complex, technical information to executives in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Desirable Qualifications

• A college degree, preferably in information systems or business.
• Experience with TippingPoint intrusion prevention system.
• Experience with Imperva WAF.
• Experience with Juniper and Cisco network equipment.
• Security certifications, such as a CISSP, GIAC or similar.
• Able to work effectively with a broad range of personalities and people as part of a security team.
• Business-friendly, collaborative and diplomatic.
